1.
Here comes the day My leg's full of cramp And my head's like a champ on the ropes I can't stand to pee Oh woe is me It's been harder before, but now I'm feeling it more Waiting for love's return I step on the train And listen to people maintain Their belief in a God They try to avoid The remnants of all they've destroyed Navigating a path through the pain Waiting for love's return I step off the train And into the home that we shared As the hail hits the stone I get in the shower And wash of the barbs That we use to devour hearts of lovers and friends Waiting for love's return
2.
If all our thoughts, when they're revealed Turn out to be no more than dust and bones Then we would be conceivably alone Exposed and alone We lie and steal and after that We cover up with fat and bitch and moan There's always something more that we could own But the outside remains unknown In crawling through this crepitating Undulating cabbage I call home I think of all the ways that I have grown But the fact is, I'm still alone Now you stand before me Our bodies warming This is our island, our very own island We swim in the currents Your hair is blowing I'm in love with your colour Yeah it's humbling stuff I used to be worried I used to be sore I used to be broken But now I'm opening up I'm glad we could talk I guess I was crumbling But I got some courage Yeah it's humbling stuff And it's kind of foreign But there's something about it Like the wet of the evening And the smell of the bud Now we're here alone
3.
Whether I intended it, I find myself alone Ancient cravings fill me and I feel the ravings grow A hawke flies over whistling warnings of fire below Walk with me Walk with me this night, oh baby Walk with me I mustn't go out alone Well the bells have rung for days now, there is fever in the crows Sleep reveals dark visions and there ain't no cure for those I walk into a brothel setting fire to my clothes Walk with me Walk with me this night, oh baby Walk with me I mustn't go out alone There's no need to ask why Don't ever ask why I want to keep waking up this way To the light We're safe in the light I want our fears to evaporate And take flight But will they ever take flight? There is a feeling I cannot shake Our resolve is all we have to keep us entwined And in these lonely evening hours I feel you close by There are many reasons I need you by my side Walk with me Walk with me Walk with me this night, I'm begging you Walk with me I mustn't go out alone
